Sankalp received his PhD and MBA from IIM Calcutta and a BTech from Marine Engineering & Research Institute Kolkata, punctuated with over a decade of corporate world experience across operations, marketing, strategy, management consulting and talent management. Such work streams afforded him the opportunity to work in different regions of India as also parts of the globe.
Subsequent to his doctorate in Strategic Management, he transitioned to academia wherein he served IIM Tiruchirappalli and IIT Jodhpur for over 7 years before joining DSSE IIT Bombay. Sankalp's primary research stream focuses on the evolving entrepreneurship ecosystem in India, including entrepreneurship support organizations with particular interest in DeepTech venture development which leverages fundamental R&D being carried out by faculty members and doctoral students in technology institutes in the country. His research interest also spans entrepreneurship education for undergraduate students, corporate executives and those involved in the indigenous craft economy.   
Engaging ethnographically with contexts of interest, Sankalp has published in the Strategic Management Journal and Organization among others, has presented papers in multiple editions of EGOS and is an active writer of case studies for classroom teaching. Sankalp Pratap - Google Scholar
Sankalp likes walking across cities he visits, a habit he picked up during his merchant navy stint at the beginning of his career and captures his experiences as short stories for children. 

At this time, Sankalp is open to guiding both doctoral and post-doc candidates in areas like entrepreneurship support organizations, university entrepreneurship and deep-tech venture creation.
