Biography

Rizwan Koita is an entrepreneur and philanthropist (www.koitafoundation.org) with a passion to leverage emerging technologies and business process innovation to have meaningful social impact. In addition to driving Koita Foundation, Rizwan is the Chairman of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), which certifies over 20,000 healthcare organisations across India.

Rizwan is the co-founder of CitiusTech (www.citiustech.com) and ran the company as CEO from 2005 to end-2021. CitiusTech is a global leader in healthcare technology and the first Unicorns in India in Healthcare technology. CitiusTech today has over 9,000 healthcare technology professionals and over Rs. 4,000 crores in revenues.

Prior to CitiusTech, Rizwan co-founded TransWorks (now Concentrix), one of the first BPO firms in India, which was acquired by the Aditya Birla group in 2003. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Rizwan was a senior consultant with McKinsey & Co., advising corporations on business strategy and operations. Rizwan is the recipient of the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2013) and the recipient of the 2002 Indo-American Society's ‘Young Achievers Award in Business’. Rizwan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay and has a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), ranking #1 in both programs.
