On 7th February 2024, DSSE invited Mr Anil Nair (Executive Director and CEO at St. Jude India ChildCare Centres - https://stjudechild.org/) to conduct a hands-on workshop for students to appreciate the concepts of Problem – Solution Fit and Product – Market Fit, with a particular focus on scalable social enterprises.

Prof Sankalp Pratap of DSSE welcomed Mr Nair and facilitated the session spread over 4 hours in the evening after class hours. 

Mr Nair held forth in DSSE’s Proof-of-Concept Lab , taking student teams through a step by step journey wherein they used chart paper and sketch pens to conceptualize and articulate, getting immediate feedback for further development of their venture ideas.  

The workshop elicited energetic participation from IITB students. Chai and Samosa was served !

Social Entrepreneurship is one of the pillars of DSSE’s research agenda wherein it’s recently advertised PhD program offers a course titled “Readings in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Development”.
